Psalm 144

Psalm 144:1-15

144
Chapter 144
To David. Blessed be the LORD my rock, the one teaching my hands for battle, my fingers for war. 1 Blessed be the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for battle, my fingers for war. 2 The LORD my steadfast love and my snare, my one who attains and my refuge for me, my shield and in him I have taken refuge, the one who subdues my people in place of Adam. What is Adam that you know him, or the son of man that you consider him? 3 LORD, what is Adam that you know him, or the son of man that you consider him? Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow. 4 Humanity is like Hebel to his blood; his days are like a shadow passing. 5 LORD, bow down your heavens and descend; flash lightning and scatter them; send your arrows and rout them. 6 Send your hand from on high, rescue me and deliver me from many waters, from the hand of Beni. Flash lightning and scatter them; shoot your arrows and confound them. 7 Send your hand from on high; deliver me, save me from many waters, from the hand of the sons of foreigners. 8 I will sing a new song to you; with a ten-stringed harp I will sing praises to you. 9 God, a new song, I will sing to you on a ten-stringed harp; I will sing praises to you, the one who gives salvation to kings, who rescues David his servant from an evil sword. 10 The one giving salvation to kings, the one delivering David his servant from the sword of evil. 11 Which our sons are like plants grown tall in their youth, our daughters like corner pillars cut for the shape of a palace. 12 That our sons are like plantings grown great in their youth, our daughters like cornerstones carved, a pattern of the temple. 13 Our clan leaders from kind to kind, our sheep full, our granaries bringing forth from kind to kind, our oxen trained, our ten thousands in our streets. 14 Blessed the people such that it is for him; blessed the people whose God is the LORD.
